First Workshop

Here they are, our first graduated students: Mela, Marce, Carmen, Martita and Angelita.

It was a very entertaining am workshop, full of chating, cookies and media lunas. What else can be a better combo: weaving loom + delicious food = full tummy + happy souls 🙂

In the pic you can see my 30×30 cm (12×12″) weaving loom in action. Significantly more appropiate to teach, trying to do that with the original 10×10 cm loom is reserved to only 20/20 vision..

The main objective of this class was to achieve one finished square in the zoom loom, using the basic stitch. It doesn`t seem to be a great challenge, but it certainly is. The 3 warp layers are a bit confussing, but then the weaving layer is quite easy. You need to reach the goal of one first weaved square to finally understand this technique, reaching the end no matter what is the task!

Students went home with work to do, but most of all with ideas and yarn to keep creating things.

See you in our next adventure!
